GILL HIND – Associate Osteopath
Gill came to Osteopathy a little later on in her life. Having had a successful career in IT for many years she decided to make a complete change and follow her passion. She qualified from the British School of Osteopathy (BSO) in 2015 with a Masters Degree in Osteopathy. Whilst there she trained to deliver OsteoMap which is based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and includes the development of mindfulness skills to increase awareness and support behaviour change.
She completed her Diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy at the Osteopathic Centre for Children in London following her undergraduate studies. Having enjoyed her experience there very much she carried on volunteering in the mother and baby clinic for some time after qualifying until the clinic was moved to SW London. Despite being very fit at the time she suffered post viral fatigue and malaise following flu in 2013 and to support her recovery she has been following the work of Dr Raymond Perrin.
This has also led her to develop a particular interest in working with the viscera (organs) through the Barral Institute® to understand how their function and health affects the function of the musculoskeletal system. Incorporating her training in ScarWork® enables her to work with many clients post-surgery/trauma especially in regard to the digestive system, respiratory system and pelvic health. She often works alongside Alexandra O’Connor, a specialist in fertility acupuncture, to improve menstrual cycle health and pain. She is trained to deliver the MummyMOT® which supports women in their postpartum recovery.
Gill is available on Monday and Tuesday.
